Dr. Greene is a faithful servant leader who is committed to preaching the gospel and winning souls for the Kingdom. He seeks to expound upon the gospel in a manner that brings glory to God, edifies the body of Christ, and transforms the lives of others. He imparts the word of God in such a manner that individuals of all ages and backgrounds can make it applicable to their everyday life. He is a prominent leader, highly regarded orator, teacher, and mentor.
Dr. Greene is the 17th president of the Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of South Carolina (BEMCSC). Under his leadership the BEMCSC has instituted several outreach initiatives that are aimed at meeting the needs of the less fortunate. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BEMCSC distributed over 240,000 food boxes to those in need across the state of South Carolina. Additionally, the convention sponsored 51 children in Ecuador, Haiti, and Kenya.They have also provided over 30,000 hygiene packs to indiviudals that are incarcerated in the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Seeking to further the mission of Christ, the BEMCSC purchased a food truck in 2021, which is used to prepare and deliver meals to the homeless.
Dr. Greene is a dedicated student of God’s word and continuously seeks training at the state and national level. He regularly attends national and international expository preaching conferences, gaining a number of certifications, and has had the distinct opportunity to receive training in Oxford, England. Dr. Greene is also an advocate of christian education who compels pastors and leaders to be thoroughly trained. In 2006, he launched the Community Church Growth Conference that aims to equip church leaders and the body of Christ for ministry through the teaching and preaching of God’s word. The conference engages particpants in dynamic seminars led by nationally recognized theologians. As president of the BEMCSC, he has instituted the Forward Thinking Playbook, which consisted of a series of trainings for church leaders on the topics such as discipleship, worship, and pastoral care. Dr. Greene has also spearheaded the initiative to share the history of the black church in South Carolina. In May 2021, the book entitled Unveiling and Retelling Our History was released. This would be followed by the documentary, Our Faith Stories from the Slave Church Balcony, which details how the black church emerged out of slavery.
Dr. Greene received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Voorhees College and a Master’s of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary. He also received an Honorary Doctorate from Morris College. In 1998, under his leadership, the Andrew Chapel Christian Academy, a fully accredited independent school for Pre-Kindergarten-6th grade children was established.
Since 1995, Dr. Greene has served as the 12th pastor of the Andrew Chapel Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC. Under his leadership the ministry has had unprecented growth, lives have been impacted, and souls have been added to the kingdom. During his tenure the church has acquired forty-five acres of land. In May 2001, the church dedicated a new sanctuary to meet the needs of their growing congregation and less than three years later, Dr. Greene oversaw the construction of the Andrew Chapel Baptist Church Fellowship Center.
Dr. Greene is a native of Camden, SC and he is married to Dr. Candice M. Greene and they have two children, Caleb Andrew (deceased), and Aaron Jacob.
